The Bohra Bazaar 2017

The Burhani Women’s Association opened their doors for outsiders and held a successful two-day festival for the uplifting of the women in the Bohra Community at Frere Hall from 29 to 30 July 2017. It was inaugurated on Saturday by Mayor Wasim Akhtar and even included presence of its senior members like their spiritual leader Syedena Saifuddin in Pakistan, Naeem Muhiuddin, Mustensar Poonawala and Mufaddal Saifuddin.

The exhibition’s core objective was to provide a platform to its skilled women, promote entrepreneurship, create network, market their ware, and spread peace and interfaith harmony.



The special Women Pavilion had stalls displaying innovative products ranging from services to consumer items to homemade items of arts, crafts, clothing, handicraft, and homemade delicacies. The Food Court was designed with separate sitting area, offering a variety of famous and mouthwatering Bohra food and delicacies including snacks, Mithais, Bohra bakery items along with popular franchises. The Children Corner provided interactive, healthy, and entertaining activities for children. There was also an invigorating Youth Corner that will keep the young adults engaged in fun filled activities like Talent Hunt, Gaming, Poster competition, Photo booth, etc.

With more than 100 stalls featuring and representing cottage and local industry of the community with amazing bargains and deals, the event managed to gather a great amount of crowd on both days. Thanks to the team of volunteer’s present, they were in coordination with the police and Rangers to oversee security measures.
