Peace - my right

By Nain Tara

Peace and Development Organization organized a campaign at Musharraf colony with members from underdeveloped communities of Yosuf Goth, Muach goth and Ittehad goth.

This awareness program was launched primarily to express the commitment of these people against terrorist activities and prejudices in our society that encourage hostilities among groups and affect peace.

Their slogans behind rikshaws and their meet ups with the people they interacted with promoted cooperation and collaboration of communities, strongly urging people to be vigilant citizens to protect and avail their basic right to have peace and security of life and property.

Peace and Development Organization understands that to build peace, it is critical to identify and unite efforts of social activists and likeminded people and help unite people rather than allow prejudices fester and encourage bigotry.

Promoting cultures of conflict prevention will build nonviolent societies aiming to achieve greater justice and sustainable development.

Although such initiatives are usually found to be taken up by our civil society organizations and NGOs, the need and the good such measures will bring are apparent and much appreciated.
